Ladies
and Gentlemen,
Good
Morning!
At the
moment of the opening of 6th China International Exhibition of Olive
Oil & Edible Oil (Oil China 2010), on behalf of the CCPIT
Specialized Sub-Council of Agriculture, I would like to express my
warm welcome to all the exhibitors, purchasers, ambassadors, guests,
and friends from China and abroad, and express my heartfelt thanks
to all those who have been supporting the development of the Oil &
Fat industry in China!
Till
now, 6 editions of Oil China Exhibition have been held successfully.
Oil China is becoming one of the largest and most prestigious edible
oil exhibitions in China. Oil China 2010 has attracted more than 150
exhibitors from 20 countries. Among them, there are Greece Pavilion,
Portugal Pavilion, Tunisia Pavilion, Australia Pavilion, and Gansu
Longnan Pavilion. The exhibits are mainly medium-to-high-end edible
oils from about 500 brands. Colorful events such as olive oil
tasting will be held. Compared with previous exhibitions, 6th Oil
China 2010 will make a new step forward with larger exhibition area,
more varieties of oils, and more colorful events.
China is
a big country in terms of edible oil production, trade, and
consumption. In 2009, the consumption of edible oil in China reached
more than 24, 500,000 tons, the consumption per capita is 18.9kg,
with an increase of more than 5%. And the market share of
medium-to-high-end edible oil is increasing. In 2009, the edible oil
imports reached 8160,000 tons with an increase of 8.4%. With the
upgrade of household income and consumption concept, we are
confident that the edible oil market in China will embrace a more
brilliant future with enormous opportunities.
The
flourish of the Chinese edible oil industry has created a favorable
environment for 6th Oil China 2010, while the support from relevant
organizations has played a vital role in the success of Oil China
2010. It has been supported by Shanghai Municipal People's
Government Gansu Longnan municipal government, Embassy of Greece,
Embassy of Spain, Embassy of Portugal, Embassy of Turkey, Embassy of
Tunis, Italian Trade Commission (I.C.E.), Portuguese Olive Oil
Association, Tunisian Packaging Technical Centre (PACKTEC),
Prefecture of Heraklion from Greece. On behalf of the organizer, I
would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the above
organizations. My gratitude also goes to Beijing Regalland
